The Augusta - Aiken Audubon Society is proud to announce funding to bring environmental education to your school! We are offering Grants of up to $350 as well as Audubon Adventures and Bird Sleuth, Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. We also have slide shows, videos, and classroom speakers available. * GRANTS OF UP TO $350 can be used for supplies and materials to support an environmental education project or enhance a project already underway. Previous sponsored grants include projects such as outdoor classrooms, bird feeding stations, butterfly studies, stream ecology studies, Carolina Fences, and more. Please, NO CAMERAS!T0 APPLY FOR A GRANT, follow our GRANT FORMAT. The grant format includes a SAMPLE GRANT (pages 5 through 8).
Send the grant proposal to the our Education Chair Ruth Mead by the deadline; remember, a well written proposal is more likely to be sponsored. * BIRD SLEUTH An exciting research and interdisciplinary education curriculum, is designed for grades 5-8 and developed by Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology with funding from the National Science Foundation. Modules include: Most Wanted Birds, Exploring Bird Behaviour and Investigating Evidence. Climate Change through Nesting Birds will be available soon. For more information click Bird Sleuth
* AUDUBON ADVENTURES Audubon Adventures, a National Audubon Society program, is aligned with national education standards for students in grades 3 - 5. However, Augusta-Aiken Audubon is willing to sponsor a middle school science teacher who has found the curriculum to be useful in the past. The classroom kit includes editions of student newspapers (32 copies), teacher's resource manual with lesson plans and activities, nature journaling guide, a year's membership to the National audubon Society, class certificate of participation, and local Audubon chapter support. for more information click Audubon Adventures
